SMA Awards
The Society for Music Analysis gives several annual awards to scholars in recognition of their distinguished achievement in the field of music theory and analysis. The awards include the Pascall Medal, Anthony Pople Mid-Career Researcher Award, Adele Katz Early Career Researcher Award, PhD Thesis Award, TAGS Award, and Undergraduate Award.

Bursaries
To support travel to conferences, the SMA provides small travel bursaries for students and early career scholars as well as larger grants from the Music Analysis Development Fund.
Mentoring
The SMA is in the process of setting up a mentoring scheme to launch in mid-2026. Please watch this space, annoucements through our members’ lists, and at our annual TAGS and MACs.
